ZOO-ing

tuesday saw ade, ryan, wee&i heading to the zoo. ade&i with 2 baldies.
woke up early in the morning (compared to other days) and played hop on!
haha. usually when we head to town, i'll get on a 171 and ade would hop on. this time, she took 171 and we hopped on!
we took the bus to opp the mandai army camp to change to another bus that goes into the zoo.
there was a lot a people there. i don't remember my parents taking leave when we were young to bring me to the zoo :(
haha. we saw tonnes of animals there! (:
i like the zoo. it brings back childhood memories.
not to mention that i've learnt a lot of things at the zoo!

did you know that you need 10 pigmy hippos to be equivalent to one nile hippo?
i never knew that. that we definitely look tiny compared to both the hippo and the pigmy.
haha. after the visitations to the hippos, ade and i became lazy bones.
so the botaks had to piggyback us around the place till we reached the outback area.
hah. i look a picture with my fellow friend, emu! :D
there was the kangeroos as well (: but there was a half blind emu with only one eye :(
ade and i decided to piggyback each other for a little while.
such love!

i was beginning to wonder how ryan complains about her being heavy.
she's as light as a feather. i could've carried her a long long way.
haha. we went to places like the children farm where we saw the goats, the pigs, the cows, a very handsome donkey, and a er.. nevermind house.
HAHA. we had kfc for lunch! (:
i had the shrooms meal and part of a bandito pocket, wee 2 piece chicken with the other part of the bandito pocket, ade had 2 piece meal and ryan had the 2 piece miso meal with one entire bandito pocket! GREEDY!
the rest of the day was roaming around the zoo and looking at the animals and taking loads of pictures.
haha.
but i learnt a few things from the zoo. i saw some stuff.

a tree is worth $196,250 according to professor T.M Das of the university of calcutta. a tree living for 50 years would generate $31,250 worth of oxygen, provide $62,000 worth of pollution control, control soil erosion and increase soil fertility to the tune of $31,250, recycle $37,500 worth of water and provide a home for animals worth $31,250. this figure does not include the value of fruits, lumber and beauty derived from the tree. just another sensible reason to take care of our forest.

our last rainforest - bukit timah nature reserve.
area land = 75 hectares.
there are probably more plant species than the world of north america. the forest supports over 10,650 species including 10,000 beetles, 200 ants and 200 cockroach species.

what more could i ask for?
going on an educational trip to the zoo with the loveliest people in my life!
to see the animals i love.
& to know the planet i love is in danger because of us.

i figured it was too difficult to get everyone who was in the midst of talking about what's been going on in their lives to crowd together for a few minutes to take a group photo.
haha. so this had to resort to the most unglam pictures of them.
haha. my dearest classmates are (from top left to right) yvonne, liyi, clement, helmi, ade and eugene! and maybe there was a lonely cabbage that fell off the plate! haha.
the food was alright i guess.
the only dish i had a problem with was my spaghetti.
they practically gave me enough sauce to eat less than half the amount of pasta.
stingy pokers! and to think i'm someone who doesn't like my pasta swimming in sauce. bleaghh.
i had a doughnut after dinner (i think i'm crazy too)
liyi and clement shared ice-cream and everyone else didn't get anything!

ade&i decided to go shopping ourselves since everyone was too tired to do anything else.
they went home.
i got my m)phosis black shorts. i was standing around deciding whether i should be getting S or M. i could wear both! haha.

ade's mummy bought me a tee from pull&bear. haha. ade had the yellow design of the same series i got the blue!

I LOVE YOU ADELELE! seriously, i wouldn't know what i'd do without you in my life. with no one to play dumb with me. do stupid things with me. go shopping with me. talk to me. encourage me. love me for who i am, for what i do. treat me like a pampered friend. listen to all my ranting. understanding the fact that sometimes we do pms and we don't mean it. for going shopping for wee's stuff with me. for allowing me to be my goofy self. for laughing with me (though occassionaly it ends us laughing AT me). and without you, i wouldn't have an aunty (your mummy) who dotes of me just like she would to her own daughter, wouldn't have a friend (your sister) who treats me like a little sister and who listens to the things i have to say as well and wouldn't have an uncle (your daddy) who would willingly let me follow you around. and i'm thanking God that my decision for my uni allowed me to end up in close proximity enough to you so that if i do need anyone, i know i'll always have you around. whether i'll be in fass with you, or i get sent to business school, you'll be walking distance away. woke up not so early in the morning.
had my really heavy brunch. so i had to rest.
trooped down to wee's condo to go for a swim! haha.
wee says my breastroke is lazy. which is true, for some strange reason, my left leg is suffering from spasm and refuses to kick properly.
so i changed to freestyle. much better i must say.
headed to a furo bath for relaxation after very tiring swimming! haha. (probably cause i haven't exercised in eons. i've been lazy!)
that's about all i did today! haha.

i hope i'm going to wala later with my brother.
hopefully, wee and his friends would be joining us!

POP-ed

YESTERDAY! wee pop-ed from tekong after 10 torturous weeks serving our nation.



it was quite a memorable one but a little tiny cos the army wanted to try allowing them to pop in the morning.
wee's company was one of the lucky 3 who had the chance to book out in the morning.
the weather was perfect for the boys.
before the parade started, the sun was blazing on the parade square.
when the parade started, it was cloudy and cooling. (:
and immediately after all of them got off the parade square, it started pouring like no one's business.
haha. he took loads of photos as memories with all his bunk/platoon/company mates.
and i was the photographer of the day! :Dn
not bad a job i must say. i could quit my (non-existent) day job and take up this freelance.
the army isn't so bad. even though they made us wait like 1 hour and 45 mins to officially bookout, they provided us with loads of food for my sweet tooth.
i had a box with a damn nice walnut cookie, swiss roll, danish snow puff, tuna puff and a cheese bun. &little miss greedy ate up everything!
haha. his mumy&daddy brought us to eat korean bbq after we left tekong.
thankyou uncle! thankyou aunty!
after which, we headed to town to change a pull&bear polo tee that he got for cheeyong cos he got the wrong size.
roamed around town looking at his skateboarding stuff.
haha. linus came along later on! look look look.
wee got a tee that said "stop laughing, i think i broke something" and a damn cute deck. haha. it had colourful pandas with wings on them. branded enjoi.
linus had a really impulsive buy of a damn pretty deck. branded girl.
skateboarding is a damn expensive sport. just the deck would cost about 85bucks. haha. wee's using his soon. linus got it to display and keep. haha.
headed to raffles place after that to meet wee's army friends for late dinner!
we had sambal singray, mutton satay, chicken satay, beef satay, black pepper sotongs etc.
haha. all the food unfit for people with high cholestrol. haha.
they're a bunch of damn funny people. gossiping about other people. telling me all the army stories that they know off. haha.
and one of them (the platoon best) has like this super cool looking motorbike. haha.
and i've never rode on a moving motorbike before.



today! (: woke up damn late and stayed at home to watch more of my korean dramas.
wee came over to pick me up to send me for tuition.
haha. i owe ryan 15mins of tuition today!
so i tried a new way to get to his place.
the fastest way is to take a bus from my house to woodlands. from woodlands take a straight bus down to yishun. tada! i'm at the condo! (:
he's damn funny today.



me: ehh.. hurry up. pay attention i have to go at 6.45pm! don't you want to watch tv after i leave?
ryan: there's no tv to watch today until 7.30pm.
me: so you want me to stay here and watch you do your work until 7.30pm?
ryan: YES. i don't mind. *big cheesy smile*
me: i don't want! what if i'm hungry and i have nothing to eat?
ryan: i got bread at home.
me: but i'm meeting my friend for dinner today.
ryan: ask your friend to come over and eat bread with you.

left after he's completed his questions (like finally) and took my 169 to yishun mrt.
haha. met marc there.
headed down to choa chu kang lot one to eat.
had ajisen ramen there.
the service was awful! they ran out of like chopsticks so they gave us plastic spoons and forks. hah.
we've decided that it's the last time we're gonna eat there.
haha. and i saw them chase out 3 groups of customers cos the signed outside said "please wait to be seated" and they walked in cos the services was slow!
oh & i got belgium chocolate coated raisins! (: thankyou marc!
haha. headed down to rail mall strudel! (: yummy.
and the lady who works there still recognises me. haha. unbelievable. i must have eaten too much strudels!
he showed me a couple of tricks from his new found hobby. haha.
pretty impressive i must say. for someone who practiced it over one night. haha.

baby came back yesterevening.
haha. he came over after dinner to walk me to the shell station near my house.
i wanted my oatmeal graham ben&jerry's ice-cream cos i had a a craving for it.
but they didn't have it there :( so i had to do with the cookie dough, my ultimate favourite (:
then i got fickled and saw the cornetto tiramissyou. then i had a craving for that.
so i put back the ben&jerry's that opted for that.
bought a bar of normal snickers and an almond snickers as well (: greedy pigs.
yes. i'm very aware that i'm putting on a lot of weight.
but i'm not losing any. i'm gonna maintain at this weight! cos i thought back about the time i was only like 46kg. it disgusted me being so skinny and being able to see so many bones sticking out of my skin.
i feel a lot healthier now! (: at a very healthy 52kg for my height :D i've got some flesh now!
everyone around me prefers me like this now!
okayyy. wee had to go home cos he had linus&kahteng&cheeyong over at his place to play mahjong. hah.
but i decided to be nice and continue to give him some lady luck.
i messaged him and he won! (: i called him and he won again!
watched gangs of new york with my brother on tv. and off to sleep i went.
i had church early in the morning the next day!

today was an AWESOME day! (:
haha. i spent my day with my boy and my brother! surprise surprise!
my brother&i forgot that today was combined service in church so dragged our lazy bones out of the house and drove to church.
we reached at 9am! but to our horror, there were no cars around.
so we figured it was at 10am.
had a little tiny bit of illegal driving :D haha. i think i'm not bad.
getting the hang of the manual transmission. hah.
brother took over and drove to sixth ave where we had coffee bean's vanilla chocolate dream ice blended with extra whipped cream. yum.
headed back to church! (:
was supposed to have pasta fresca with weeby cos he got his pay today.
but brother had no lunch partner for the day so i asked him along.
there was well, a moment of awkward silence but everything went well after a while.
they were talking about army and stuff (surprise surprise) haha.
i had the spinach&mozarella cheese&italian ham pizza.
(sounds weird i know, but it was a very light pizza so it gave the ham extra flavouring)
brother had marinara with white wine instead of tomato sauce
and wee had *i can't remember* but it's creamy tomato sauce with ham, onions and mushrooms with gnocci!
brother drove us to liquids cafe for desserts (:
they both had milk shakes - strawberry and oreo. it was delicious!
i had the classic carrot cake since my orea cheesecake wasn't available :( but it was nice and nutty and sweet.
brother went home after that.
wee&i headed to the most neighbourhood place i've been in a long time.
beauty world shopping centre! haha. i bought some second hand national geographic books.
from that of year 1991! i bought 3! 1 about africa. 1 about the persian gulf. 1 about the formation of volcanoes. the ultimate detailed one. (:
wee's book in was at 5pm today! :( bummer.
off to pasir ris it was.
headed home and not before long, brother came knocking on my door asking me if i wanted to go to wala wala to watch his friends perform.
couldn't find a parking lot. you know how holland v is during the weekends.
so we parked at this hdb parking area damn far away from the pub.
haha. disgusting! we kinda got a little bit lost but..
THEY ARE EXTREMELY GOOD! (:
i loved how each of the 2 guitars complimented each other with every chord they strummed/plucked.
and how both guitars supported the lead vocals without overpowering her.
& of cos how perfect the lead vocals sounded. she's brilliant! despite her having a sore throat, she didn't sound one bit "froggish" - in her own words. (:
my brother went up to stage to sing a couple of songs with them. haha.
i think he's pretty good himself. confidence my dearest brother!
oh. he ordered sprite and i had hot tea. (don't ask me why i drank that at a pub.)
chit chat for a while.
came home and had mama's home made nasi lemak waiting for us at the dining table.
we ate it at like 10pm while watching ugly betty and america's next top model! :D

i spent the most time with my brother this entire weekend! <3

this song is pretty old (during the A level period) but i heard it at zara the other day while shopping with my girls. haha. so yes.

qianning came over on thursday to do some econs with me.
boyohboy am i rusty! haha.
but i'm glad i'm still of help to her!
i'm going to make some of my friends taking the A's this year crash my house to study.
haha. unbelievable.
there's taking the exams this year and they're still playing away. as in they're studying like 20hours a day but it's not productive. :(
my dear girls, you're making me very worried for you.
spent the rest of my day sitting in front of my laptop watching korean dramas. (:

friday, i woke up at like 10plus which is considered damn late for me!
had a feast of a tau sa bao, ling yong bao and some butterflies with you tiao. haha.
hawker breakfast are still the yummiest of the lot.
watched those dramas with my grandmama again and took a nap cos i was damn tired.
woke up and decided to head down for tuition.
since i had to buy ryan his mentos and a notebook for him to keep track of his homework and stuff, i decided to try a different route to sembawang.
the verdict: taking a bus straight to woodlands to change from there is faster than going to choa chu kang and takin the mrt. so from now on, woodlands way it is! (:
ryan has finally earned his 5 stickers so i gave him his mentos. haha. sorry! i bought the wrong colour. he liked dark blue (super strong mint) but i got him the light blue.
he's a very obedient boy! don't understand why the previous tutors didn't bother to finish up or acted so irresponsibly :( poor kiddo.
came home, had my dinner and watched even more tv.
i think my eyes are gonna spoil soon. soon, i'll be wearing spectacles around singapore :(
baby had his 24km route march on friday. he must be damn tired.

are all these tuitions going to make me studious again? i doubt so!

haha. fine. so i'm just a little biased!
in case you were wondering who mr ryan wong is, he's my new primary 3 student whom i started teaching today.
a few observations i noticed about him/his surroundings.
1. he gets tired after paying attention for 1 hour.
2. his favourite subject is math.
3. he likes science next.
4. he's into pokemon and CARS.
5. rewarding him with incentives to be focus works. 100% proven!
6. he's had loads of tuition teachers before me
7. he actually gets excited when given homework.
8. he's a nice/cute/friendly/polite/creative young one.
9. his little brother is adorabe as well

ryan's brother, "why are you so tall?"
me, "one day, you'll be just as tall or even taller."
ryan's brother, "really? wow!"
me, "yes, really. ok byebye!"
ryan's brother, "when are you coming again? soon? OH i'm going to play now! byebye!" (cute?)

yes. that's what i noticed from the first one and a half hours spent with that little one.
he loved life cycles. he went on and one about the life cycle of the chicken and how if we feed a hen eats too much, she'll be fat and when she sits on her eggs, they'll crack! haha.
he think butterflies are nicer cos they eat less and are less destructive than caterpillars. he finds caterpillars disgusting cos they eat up the leaves on his plants. and i was wondering, where are the plants in his room?
my verdict? if he didn't stay so far away from my house, i wouldn't mind teaching him everyday!

haha. before heading down to that little one's house, ade&i trooped down to sherilyn's warm and cosy house all the way in yishun!
washed a little of last night's episode of spell cast and ate her mum's delicious prawn noodles! haha. she put in 1kg of prawn just to boil enough soup to feed just a few of us! wow.
sherilyn had literally tonnes of clothes that she didn't wear brand new with or without the tag!
to finance her shopping, we're on the quest to help her sell her clothes!
haha. ade&i definitely tried about 10 pieces of clothing each!
it's seriously damn fun just hanging out at her house and doing nothing!
not really nothing, but it's just damn fun!
tuition again on friday - looks like i might just head down there again! (:

baby's been promoted from the toilet cleaner in his company to the platoon i/c! (: yay! i'm so proud of him (: haha. but it only means he got less time to talk to me every night cos he'll be more busy with stuff. but i'll be understanding! (: POP in just another 6 days! (: hoooooray!

the past 2 days have been shopping days for me! (:
monday! despite have lost loads of sleep for the past few nights, i decided to drag my lazy bum off the bed and wash up to meet ade&sherilyn at vivo for the great singapore sale.
haha. it was a good shopping day for me but not for them! haha.
though most of the stuff i bought were not on sale :( haha.
i got 1tee& 1skirt from pull&bear, 1hoodie from f21, 1maryjanes from topshop and 1tank from fox.
haha. sherilyn got this jumper thing from pull&bear that i think looked fabulous on her! haha. lucky girl.
ade got this tube dress from zara!
shirlene joined us for dinner at superdog! haha.
CONGRATULATIONS SHIRLENE! NO MORE PAPERS!
i love the chilli fries but seriously, they need to improve on their quality of their services!
walked around even more cos shirlene felt upset that she didn't get to do any shopping.
but, it was a very successful shopping day for me!
no prizes for guesing, i'm broke now. hah.

today, went down to bukit timah plaza to meet ade&shirlene to buy assessment books for my new and only student!
haha. he's a primary 3 boy that stays in sembawang - taking english, math and science tuition from me!
haha. his mum specifically asked for people going into nus / ntu fass! haha.
if she wasn't so picky, i'd give the job to sherilyn. haha.
but if it means getting to learn about teaching and earning some little small amounts of pocket money for myself, why not?
travelling down to sembawang doesn't sound like my perfect holiday though.
but to make matters better, sherilyn stays in sembawang! so i can visit her before tuition.

after that, headed down back to vivo for the 2nd time in 2 days.
i fell in love with this zara short but since uni doesn't allow short in campus, i decided not to get it!
but instead of convincing myself not to get anything.
i saw these studded grey earrings from topshop that looked like marbles and they were gorgeous. haha. so i got them.
they were only like $3! (:
went to f21 to follow sherilyn to try her navy cherry top!
haha. then i saw these 2 pairs of identical earrings with the exact same pattern!
i couldn't decide so ade told me to get both.
but a little stupid getting one in gold and one in silver.
but i figured since getting 2 different colours make them totally 2 different pairs, why not?
haha.
should i or should i not get my pull&bear woollen knitted cardigan?

before i start, i apologise for the number of shrek posters i posted here.
haha. for 2 reasons. one being i think all the posters are cute and i have no idea which one i prefer. and second being it's shrek3! so doesn't he deserve 3 posters? haha. LAME!
yesterday, i simply rested at home and waited for wee to change and wash up after leaving from tekong!
he came over after his dinner at home and watched me eat dinner! :(
thankyou very muchly weeby for the chocolates. they're damn nice! (:
met shihwen&tong at plaza sing to watch shrek.
we had hide&seek at carrefour. haha. we couldn't find each other after walking around for so long!
bought some drinks to sneak into the cinema so that we didin't have to buy expensive cups of drinks from the booths that contain so much ice that melts and dilutes the drink during the duration of the movie.
i love shrek! (: haha. not the ogre but the entire animation!
haha. my favourite character is king harrold the frog. he's damn funny! i couldn't stop laughing at him.
oh! not forgetting puss in boots! haha. he and his BIG BEADY EYES! damn adorable!
the movie was rather short though. maybe it's cos pirates&spiderman was so long!
but i liked it very muchly. haha. it was a fun show!

been doing practically nothing except watching my bank account erode itself.
thank goodness shihwen&i found a job for one week doing some exhibition show as assistants.
haha. i got the job cos i've had the history of using 3 samsung shows and since the show's about samsung mobile, i could do it despite having no promoting experience!
haha. then at least i'll have my own pocket money.
but on the other hand, we're working when wee&tong are having their block leave! :(
haha. but it's ok! more money to pamper them!

scandal's night + bonding with the girls

yesternight, i went for scandal's night's launch at velvet with jean&her cousins, together with sam&amanda cos ade&sherilyn couldn't make it.
the music was good i guess.
and i swear i'm a damn lousy dancer.
but i got my first taste of "unprotected" clubbing.
during post-prom, i had my classmates and wee to look out for me.
but yesterday was an all-girl thing, so we were all very vulnerable.
i guess, i won't be a frequent clubber unless there's school functions in unis and stuff cos i just seem too tired to deal with some people there.
i don't feel like going into the details, at least not here.
but it was a bad experience of some kind.
however, it was great bonding with sam :D
reached home at like 1ish with a fantastic cabbie driving me home.
he was like fatherly. haha. he refused to leave outside my house until he knew i was safely in my house.
we were talking about my uni stuff and his kids who are all in uni or graduates.
talked to my parents over the webcam for so long before they finally made me understand where they're coming from.
now i understand that them wanting me to do business cos they care about my future.
but it's good that after giving me advice, they leave it up to me to think about it.
because they respect me as an 18 year old that that i have to learn to make my own decisions. (:

had only like 6+ hours of sleep and what not cos of my biological clock.
had my super big breakfast and headed to town to get some cookies and a card.
headed down to tan tock seng hospital to pay marc a visit.
he looked like he was doing well.
hanged out at ade's house for like the whole day before heading to the IT show at suntec with ching and ade's daddy!


they were looking for laptops for uni and stuff.
it was quite fast. spent only like 30 mins there.
had tony roma's for dinner! (: THANKYOU UNCLE FOR THE DINNER! (:
spent the entire day thinking about my uni courses.
even during dinner, travel time.
ended up tossing coins like 30times due to the normal distribution. haha. a larger sample size, meaning a better probability i think.
talked to ade's mum about it. got some really good advice from shirlene too (:

thanks babes for the wonderful day. thankyou for being there for me as well. for helping me with my decision and ensuring that the one i make leaves me with no regrets. i missed those days of doing these. i hope we'll do this more often.
